I made this for a friend at work. I wish I had made one for the shop too. This one came out better than expected.

Fire polished sapphire glass beads, antiqued copper wire work, and I did my own circular connectors on the side. Plus a handmade copper clasp (which you can't see in the pic). And, a filigree butterfly from Vintaj (I think).

I finally got things sort of together and started my jewelry store on etsy. I've sold 3 things so far but that's not saying much. I didn't realize how much time I was going to have to spend networking etc and the time it takes to make stuff. Urgh. I found these two lovely fossils at a local Rock & Mineral show this weekend! Harold is the Trilobite on the left and Glenda is the Ammonite on the right. They are adorable! I used Glenda to make clay impressions (those round white things) for jewelry. After they are fired, I will paint/antique them. Hopefully, I will not screw it up. >.<

I've been barnstorming ways to make a bit of extra money this year, and thought I'd like to get back into making things. 15 years ago, I use to do American Indian style beaded jewelry and small leather crafts. But now, that's gotten cost prohibitive, so I thought maybe I'd get into copper wire wrapping and stuff like that for something to make. ( Read more... )
